Every Flavour Has a Story
Born in Akividu, West Godavari — where food is a celebration of the soil and soul.
Born From Family Kitchens
In the lush green delta of West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, food is never just an afterthought — it is an art form rooted in community, seasonal weather, and ancestral wisdom. The name Nelathali literally translates to "Mother Earth" in Telugu, honoring the fertile black-cotton soil that yields the world’s most pungent Guntur chillies, golden sesame seeds, and fragrant raw mangoes.
Nelathali Foods began not in a commercial factory, but around the stone courtyards of a family home in Akividu. Every summer, three generations of women gathered for the sacred ritual of Avakaya panduga — meticulously selecting firm, fibrous raw mangoes, sun-drying them on handloom cotton sheets, hand-pounding mustard seeds (aava pindi), and blending them with wood-pressed sesame oil in ceramic Bharani jars.
"A grandmother's touch cannot be automated. The exact warmth of roasted mustard, the slow bloom of fenugreek in warm gingelly oil, and the patience of ceramic fermentation are secrets passed only through the heart."
Why Nelathali Foods Exists
As families moved to busy metropolitan cities and across oceans to the USA, UK, and Canada, supermarket aisles became flooded with mass-produced, factory-made pickles. Jars filled with synthetic acetic acid (vinegar), sodium benzoate preservatives, and artificial food coloring stripped Andhra's culinary treasures of their soul.
We founded Nelathali Foods with a singular mission: to protect and deliver the uncompromised taste of authentic Andhra home kitchens to every doorstep. We make our delicacies exactly as our grandmothers did — in small, hygienic batches, with zero artificial preservatives, zero palm oil, and using only unadulterated cold-pressed oils.
When you open a jar of our Avakaya or spoon our freshly pounded Kandi Podi onto steaming hot rice with a dollop of cow ghee, you are tasting centuries of Telugu culinary heritage.

100% Cold-Pressed Oils
We use strictly wood-pressed sesame (til) oil and virgin groundnut oil. We never touch industrial palm oil, mineral oils, or synthetic preservatives. Whole Guntur chillies and hand-ground rock salt provide all the natural preservation our recipes require.
Small-Batch Cooking
Every batch is limited to 15–20 kilograms in artisanal stainless-steel vessels. This allows our master cooks to monitor exact roasting temperatures, ensure even oil absorption, and maintain the distinct handmade consistency that factory machines destroy.
FSSAI Certified Hygiene
Government certified under FSSAI No. 10125019000350. Prepared in sanitized kitchens featuring filtered RO water, hairnets, food-grade gloves, and ceramic-curing rooms that meet national food safety guidelines.
Leak-Proof Multi-Layer Packaging
Every jar is protected with heat-induction foil seals and heavy-duty bubble cushioning within reinforced 5-ply corrugated shipper boxes. Your oil will never leak in transit, whether shipping to Hyderabad, Bengaluru, London, or California.
From Our Kitchen
to Your Home
We know what it feels like to crave the nostalgic taste of home when you are thousands of miles away from family. A meal without a comforting dab of Avakaya or a spoonful of Kandi Podi on hot rice with ghee feels incomplete.
That is why we built Nelathali Foods with a customer-first philosophy:
"In an Andhra household, food is never just food. It is an expression of hospitality, love, pride, and memories. When we pack a jar of Avakaya or a box of Bellam Kaju in our Akividu kitchen, we aren't simply fulfilling an online order. We are sending you a warm embrace from home."
